Abstract
Education has played a central and shaping role in Kerala’s social and economic development, and its major contribution has strengthened the state’s identity as the most literate region in India. Among the several phases that supported the evolution of its education system, the period under the ministry of EMS Namboodiripad stands out as an important and influential moment. This period is remembered for making one of the earliest and most serious attempts to reform the educational sector in a systematic and inclusive manner. Although the ministry remained in power for only a short time, the reforms it introduced created widespread attention, public curiosity, and debate across academic spaces as well as political platforms .
